Soon after, Valmiki states that the meaning of Rama Avtar is standing on one word, one arrow and love is for only one wife. Herewith, Sita repents and performs a pooja as contrition as per the advice of Valmiki. Meanwhile, Srirama begins the ritual and leaves the horse which the twins obstruct, confronts Lakshman, and defeats the entire Ayodhya army along with him. Being cognizant of it, Srirama proceeds to recoup the horse and an altercation carry out between father & sons which leads to war. Spotting it, Hanuman hurriedly rushes to Sita and informs her of the catastrophe. Immediately, she impedes the battle and proclaims Lava-Kusha as the progeny of Srirama. Thus, the two embrace their father when everyone requests Sita to be back as queen which she denies and returns to her mother Bhudevi. At last, Rama and his brothers renounce the throne by crowning Lava-Kusha. Finally, the movie ends on a happy note with Rama & Sita merging into their original forms of Vishnu & Lakshmi at Vaikuntha.
American comedy-drama Burnt, starring Bradley Cooper, Sienna Miller and Omar Sy and directed by John Wells has been called patchy and predictable by Variety magazine. The film is weighed down by perfunctory sub-plots, a lot of characters remain undeveloped and you never really believe a word of what the movie tells you. One of my favourite movies about the Hindi film industry, Luck By Chance portrays Sona Mishra as an aspiring actress who hopes to get a big break in films with the help of a producer. I love how her character develops through the film: she evolves from being someone emotionally and professionally dependent on others to someone who has taken charge of her destiny and accepts life as it is. Konkona brings the perfect degree of optimism, confidence and gullibility to the character of Sona.
This 2002 Bengali film directed by Rituparno Ghosh portrays the story of Titli (Konkona), a teenager who has a crush on movie star Rohit Roy. As she travels with her mother to the airport to pick up her father, their car is stopped and they are requested to pick up a co-passenger whose car has broken down. Titli is pleasantly surprised as the man turns out to be none other than Rohit Roy. Her happiness is short-lived, however, as she learns that Rohit and her mother were lovers in their youth. She feels her mother has betrayed her and is heartbroken. The movie also explores the dynamics of a mother-daughter relationship and Konkona portrays Titli with the same immaturity, restlessness and curiosity that we all have as teenagers.
