The application first maps a virtual drive and unpacks the hacking files required. Once the file system has been activated, the drive is unmapped and a root certificate is installed. This is the all-important bit will allow you to install what you want. Lastly RomPatcher+ is installed, and your phone is hacked.
Symbian Hacking
As with all hacking adventures, the software is provided with no guarantees. This means if it all goes wrong (and it really shouldn't, this is very different to flashing/debranding) it's your problem, and not the manufacturers. If you were to send your phone back for repair, there's a good chance you'll be told to hop, skip and jump.
There were days when hacking a Symbian device was very easy. But it becomes hard nowadays. Because we can no longer obtain a free certificate to sign our unsigned apps. So, we need to hack our mobile using a different technique: Norton Hack.
Step 1Download hacking tools to get rid of certificate errors on your Symbian smartphone. It is a ZIP file. Open it using X-Plore. You will see a number of files in this archive. Install NortonSymbianHackLDD.sis file.
We've now got to the point in Symbian's lifecycle that the older variants, in this case S60 5th Edition, are so far from Symbian's cutting edge (and especially so in the light of recent cutbacks) are fair game for us to talk about modifications to the manufacturer-supplied firmwares. I'm still not going to write about 'hacking', as in trying to find ways to install 'cracked' commercial Symbian applications because that's plainly unethical and damaging to the app ecosystem. But complete firmwares that aim to add in features and tweaks that aren't present in the Nokia-supplied versions are right up my street and interesting to all.
Nokia has released the Symbian Belle software update for all Symbian^3 and Symbian Anna devices and users who rely on hacking their handsets will find that they are no un-hacked and that all old unsigned apps which have been installed will be removed after the update.
A week ago we had posted Dr Web's hacking method, that required a PC. Today we are posting a new UMU Mobile Security Quarantine Exploit, that would help you to hack your Symbian Phone without any PC. Though you must have an active internet connection to activate UMU Mobile Security's Trial Version. Its worth mentioning ...
this time argv is releasing an interesting huge primer on reversing symbian s60 3rd edition applications. This was something missing from the collection of our tutorials, which I am proud to announce!
You can even think of the first primer (mine) as the theory, the symbian symphony tutorial (I wrote too) as a commented exercise book and this last one (by argv) as an advanced exercise book without much comments.
hi shub, i have read the primer tutorial, and also the symbian symphony tutorial by you. The entire process is clear to me, and now i think it just practice that i need. Programs that have strings built into the exe are fine, easy to get to the branch points, but programs that use resource files, i still am not clear how to map the resource to the code.

However a new Symbian hacking method was developed lately this year (around September 2011) and it is extremely easy to use(no flashing or custom uda required thus no risk of dead phone). Actually this method utilizes the all capability (system read/write access) credentials of an Antivirus app (Dr.Web etc) to copy the three .ldd files (ROM Patcher driver files) inside C:/sys /bin folder. 2ff7e9595c
